From a client in New Zealand, 20.11.05
"Carol's coaching helped me celebrate my diversity and follow my heart. With her help, I immigrated from the woods in Oregon to Waiheke Island, New Zealand in 2004. I found her coaching innovative, challenging, fun and inspirational.
I started working with Carol in July 2003. We began clarifying my goals and current situation. My financial situation was challenging. I desired to live in an environmentally and Lesbian friendly country where I could use my talents and gifts. After a few sessions, it became clear that I had to sell my home and move. I considered living along the Oregon coast, Humbolt County in CA or New Zealand. I'd lived in New Zealand in 1971. My younger brother lives in Christchurch. After a lot of soul searching, lists, action steps and talking via the phone, I decided with Carol's questions and guidance to move to New Zealand.
I put the house and 18 acres of redwoods on the market; it sold in a few months. I let go of a lot of possessions. I left the US on 14 Dec 2003. I am now a permanent New Zealand resident. I live on a beautiful island and walk to a pristine beach for a daily swim. My work is challenging and innovative. My two cats, after a complicated immigration procedure and quarantine, are settling well. I have a peaceful home surrounded by native bush. My spiritual practice is a daily guide. I'd recommend Carol as a coach to anyone who wants to change and actualize their potential. She certainly helped me!"

"In our sessions, I came to realize that sending positive messages - through words, dress, body language could build a connection to those I was working with. This connection, being on solid ground, could then, in fact, be built upon. I never knew how these same people might come into my life again down the road. However, having laid such a positive path (with you) made it easy for me to work with them again, as the situation arose. There was no baggage to try to let go of due to muddied communications from the past."
S.L.E., from an email dated 10.23.05
"The things I find most professionally satisfying and helpful (from our sessions) are:
*your candor and no-nonsense approach to dealing with issues
*your ability to tactfully redirect the conversation to the issue at hand, while validating the speaker's need to be heard
*your ability to distinguish between the momentary crisis...and the real concerns that required attention
*I most value your unmitigated compassion for people and your ability to be so "very present" during conversations, as if you had no other cares in the world. In other words, I felt heard and understood by you. This in particular is incredibly powerful!"
N. P., Mendocino County, CA, from a letter dated 4.11.05.
My work is about making a safe place for my client's truth to be uncovered and engaged. I can then often help them find a way into their own strengthening and healing process.
As a parent of two grown children, former retail bakery business owner, social worker, public education and child welfare activist, I have a broad range of viewpoints and experiences from which I can draw to help me understand and meet the individual needs of many kinds of clients.
